JERMY, Captain (fl. 1890s) – lecturer
Church Army Carlisle II Van – organiser
“A LABOUR OF LOVE Lindol-in-Furness, Ulverston. - We have had a Mission and visit from the 'Carlisle' Diocesan Church Army Van No. II. for 14 days, and have every reason to be very thankful for the good work done in our parish. Capt. Jermy, who is in charge of the Van, has been most zealous in every form of labour, and to all it is most evident that however hard the work may be, it is with him a labour of love. At the Out-door Meetings, indoors with the Lantern, or Gospel Addresses and Services, his earnest endeavours were to win souls to Christ. We are very hopeful that good results may show themselves in our people, as many of them have been stirred up by what they have heard during the Mission, and several have come forward, and profess to be ready to do something for Christ's sake. We shall be ready to give Capt. Jermy a very hearty welcome should he be permitted to visit us again. Rev. L. Owen Lewis, Vicar.”
