“None sent empty away: A very bright and helpful C.A. Mission has just been held in this district. Many of us have real cause for thankfulness to God for having sent the 'Chichester' Van in our midst. The room in which the Mission was held was generally filled, sometimes almost to overflowingM the Captain and his helper had clever ways of finding room for all, and none were ever sent away. God has been speaking to us very closely during the mission - in the lantern illustrations, showing forth the love and compession of the 'Man of Sorrows;' in the bright C.A. hymns and choruses so heartily and pleasantly led by our good Captain, and in the earnest and soul-stirring addresses which he gave, few could listen and look on unmoved. Many attended the services whom we have never seen in God's house before, and we believe that really good work for God has been done. The Mission closed on Sunday evening with a very beautiful Lantern Service, on the 'Old, Old Story,' and the hymn 'Rock of Ages,' followed by slides on 'Our Lord's Passion.' The service was an impressive one. As we gazed at God's finished work of redemption, and listened to our Captain's assuring words to those who were really yearning to live holy lives, but were yet standing on the border of doubt and difficulty, the light of God's spirit shone upon our path, and we felt just able to cast our burden of sin and sorrow at the feed of the Crucified One, and were led really to believe in a living salvation. We were truly sorry to part with those whom we had grown to look upon as friends. We heartily thank the C.A. Officers and staff for the noble work they are doing, and for the bright unselfish example they set us to spend, and be spent in the Master's service.”
