JOHNSON, Mr   (fl. 1890s-1900s) – lecturer

Reference
‘The Church's Holy War’ in Church Army gazette

“The dumb preacher: We held our Harvest Thanksgiving Tea on Sept. 27, when over 160 sat down. After tea we held a short Praise Meeting, the Rector presiding, giving us a very edifying address on Praise. The Praise Meeting over, we had a Lantern Service, entitled, 'Beware; or, the Effects of Gambling.' Mr. Johnson read the story, and our Nurse worked the lantern. All were interested. The proceeds, which amounted to 2p., will go towards buying the new lantern we have just had down from Headquarters. Our Nurse and her kind helpers worked hard to make the tea a success, and a very happy Meeting was brought to a close by singing the 'Doxology.'”
