“Two shipwrecked crews: We have been very busy with two shipwrecked crews in one month, and such nice fellows, too. i have commenced Magic Lantern Evenings, and they are well attended. You see we have great opportunity for work when we get thirty odd men at once staying in the Home , besides a lot of men up from the ships, and all men, too. Why, in parish work one can hardly ever get hold of so many men at one time. We are a happy band of workers - the Rev. T. C. Skeggs, Capt. Cummings, and myself, although one sometimes longs for home, with its spiritual privileges, such as conferences, Quiet Days, and intercourse with such earnest, godly men as are on our C.A. Staff.”
