WOOD, Captain J.W. (fl. 1890s) – lecturer
Church Army Worcester Van – organiser
“Not seven-eights but eight-eights: On Monday, Dec. 28, Capt. J. W. Wood, of the 'Worcester' Van (who was spending his Christmas holidays with some friends there) kindly gave a very interesting Lantern Lecture to a few C.A. friends, on 'The Man with the White Hat,' which was very much appreciated. Several hymns were sung, and Capt. Wood afterwards gave a very solemn address, urging each to give themselves more fully over to Christ, Who died for them. We earnestly pray that a blessing will follow such stirring words to those who heard them. The meeting closed with the hymn 'God be with you till we meet again.'”
