“'At New Atkinsville': On Sunday evening, our pretty, and until two or three years, quiet and secluded little village was the scene of an innovation, which proved to be a great success, viz., open-air lantern lecture given by our vicar, and Capt. Pritchard, C.A., the subject being 'The Prodigal Son'. A number of parishioners and others, even beyond expectation, gathered together at eight o' clock at the village green, and to judge from heartiness with which they all joined in the services and the attention with which they listened to the vicar's address one and all fully appreciated this effort for their spiritual welfare.
