“A Bishop’s Visit. Weddington, Calne, Wits. – During Lent we have had Gospel Services illustrated by Lantern Picture, every Wednesday eveniing, which have been the means of bringing out large numbers of people who have been very interested, not only in the pictures, but in the addresses given by the Captain, who, we hope, will see great results. He has also been making his way round to another village called Chittoe, in which he is also giving Addresses with Lantern Pictures every Tuesday, which is greatly appreciated by all. On March 9, we were favoured by a visit from the Bishop of Salisbury and Mrs. Wordsworth to our mIssion Room (on his way the Consecration of the new Burial Ground). The Room was much appreciated by them, and through most appropriate for the work. They also spoke kind words of encouragement to the Captain and Mrs. Wordsworth said she liked to see the unjform worn by the Captain, and also that she enjoyed a C.A. Service in the Abbey of Westminster. We are having a Conversational Bible Class for young men in a convenient room at the top of Heddington, held by Capt. Hankins. The subject is 'the life of Christ” and we hope many are finding their way to the Lord.”
