“Children more generous than grown ups. St Simon’s, Chelsea.- On Friday evening, Feb. 7, a crowd of children trooped into the Schoolroom to a Lantern Entertainment, given by Capt. Sargent, who spoke briefly upon the story of 'A Torn Bible”. Afterwards pictures of different animals were thrown upon the sceern, and one of the Sisters told them a goog anecdotes about them. The children all seemed highly pleased, and their offerings amounted to the sum of 8s 1d. Following the children’s meeting was one for adults. Subject: 'A Torn Bible.” The connective readings were given by the Vicar of the parish. Collection – 7s. 7d.
