HANSON, Captain Arthur (c.1868- after 1911) – lecturer
“The Social gets a turn. Leeds, St Peter’s Mission. – Through the permission of the Vicar, Capt. Hanson gave us a Lantern Service for children, entitled 'Given in Charge” in the Mission Hall, on Jan. 21. He also gave us a Limelight Entertainment and Lectures on the Evangelistic and Social Work of the Church Army, shewing the means that the Church is using for the lifting up of the fallen, the feeding of the hungry, and for the salvation of the careless. There was a very good attendance, and at the close the Vicar expressed his sympathy with us in a few kind words of encouragement. A collection of 18s 6d. was forwarded to the committee to help them in their difficult but admirable work. W.H.S. for Capt. Codling.”
