BRESTER, Mr   (fl. 1890s) – lecturer

Reference
Nurse Heakes, ‘The Church's Holy War: News from the Battlefield’ in Church Army gazette

“Excused from a fortune. Bootle, Christ Church. – On Jan. 10th, the members of our Tuesday afternoon mothers’s Meeting were invited to tea at the Lecture Hall by the Misses Mather. We were much cheered by the presence of our Vicar and his wife. At the close of the tea the Vicar made a few practical remarks upon the necessity of attending God’s house, and spoke of the many excuses people make when asked to come Church; the evening was spent in various amusements. On Wendsday, Jan. 15th, the children attending our Mission Sunday School had their tea in the Lecture Hall, after which Mr. Brester kindly came and gave them a Magic Lantern which was thoroughly appreciated by the children. We are hoping to see more of the women coming to our Mission School; we are trusting God is going to bless us more and more in Bootle. Nurse Heakes.”
