“A happy long evening. Hoxton, St Andrew’s. – Our Mothers’ Meeting Tea took place on the 14th inst, which was in every way a great treat. No pains was spared by Nurse Stemson and her ready helpers to make everything bright and beatiful. […]. Returning to the institute the Rev. E.E. Nickisson assisted by Rev. H. Hirst gave the impressive Lantern Lecture, entitled ' The Torn Bible”, which caused several shed tears. All the proceedings showed that God was richly blessing the work, and souls were being won for Christ, also the sick visiting was being won blessed. This should greatly encourage our dear Sister, Nurse Stemson. For Nurse Stemson.”
