“Light on the subject: we have been privileged in this scattered parish, with a visit from Capt. Davey, who held Lantern Services here on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, Oct. 14, 15, and 16. The children were interested in the illustrated story, 'Given in Charge,' and full of glee over the comical slides. Thank God for these opportunities of brightening young lives. The adults seemed much impressed by the pictures illustrative of the story of the Cross. God grant that there may be admission gained through 'eye gate' into many a cheerless life, and that through these pictures being in the mind, some may be led to think more of eternal matters.”
