GRUMMETT, Captain (fl. 1890s) – lecturer
“Down west: On Monday evening. March 4th, in the Victoria Hall, Yeovil, a most interesting Lecture was given by Capt. Grummett of the C.A., on the important work carried on by that agency of the Church. The occasion was the fortnightly meeting of the local branch of the C.E.T.S. In the absence of the Vicar of Hendford, through ill-health, the Chair was taken by Rev. Ernest Phillips, Curate. The lecture was divided into two parts, the first part dealing with the Evangelistic work, and the second with the Social Scheme of the C.A. Hymns and prayers were thrown on the sheet during the evening. All present greatly enjoyed the Lecture, which was illustrated by over sixty Lantern Views, and on the proposition of the Rector of Lufton, a hearty vote of thanks was accorded the lecturer. A collection was made for the C.A. Social Scheme. ”
