Reference

“For Men Only Tow Law. – Since our last report we have had many happy times in connection with our Church and Mission, one was the visit from the Rev. Canon Body, the Missioner for this diocese. In the afternoon he held a service for men only, when upwards of 150 men were present, and the evening service the Church was packed, when he gave a stirring adress upon the text 'God commandeth every man everywhere to repent.” Many were heard to say that they could have sat and listened all night. On Christmas Day a large number assembled in the Schoolroom to take part in a Lantern Service, entiteld 'Christmas Bells”, and 'The Man in the Dungeon”, when the slides were thoroughly explained by the Rev. S. Davison. The collection was very good, and our thanks are due to all who helped us. R.D. for Capt. Hawley.”
