“The winter's work: […] The winter's work commenced in real earnest by the advent of Capt. Paddon into this parish in Octber last. A new departure has been the introduction of special Lantern Services on Fridays evenings - many have been attracted by the pictures, hymns and readings, and we hope also drawn to Church Services and above all, won for Christ. [...] On Dec. 10th, Mr. Lang (Police Court Missionary), gave a Lantern Lecture on rescue work amongst discharged prisoners. […]”
