[Magic lantern service] (lantern service, London, England, 1894)

Type of event
lantern service
Full title
Magic lantern service
Date
1894
Reference
‘Church News’ in Church Army gazette

“The services with the Magic Lantern on Sunday evenings, at the Church Army Church, Upper Berkeley Street, W., have met with the most encouraging success, beginning with a first-class oil-lantern, about two months ago, which, after the first evening, was discarded in favour of a powerful limelight. The services will not be illustrated by means of a very fine bi-unial (double) lantern, the cost of which has just been given by three members of the congregation, who withhold their names, simply stating on a piece of paper sent with the money - 'Freely ye have recceived, freely give.'”
