“Sleepers, Awake!: It is with great pleasure that I record the fortnight's visit of the Church Army Van in this parish. As the Mission became known, the attendance at the meetings went on increasing, and the Magic Lantern Services were especially appreciated. At the last meeting, the large schoolroom was filled. The addresses, most solemn and impressive, were listened to with rapt attention. The earnest manner and forcible language of Captain Bennett and his two assistants were calculated to arrest attention and to carry conviction. Nothing but good can be expected from their faithful witness. Many Nonconformists came to the services, and would carry away with them a truer idea of our Church and her work. I am anxious to have a permanent Church Army representative amongst us, as I am persuaded that it is most calculated to rouse up the dormant Christian Life here. ”
