“New light and old truths: The 'Oxford' Van of the Church Army has paid us a week's visit. Services had been held in the open air and in the school each evening. The attendances at these services - especially the three illustrated by the Magic Lantern - have been quite beyond my expectation. The room has been well filled, and the Wesleyans, who are numerous, have shown unflagging and most encouraging interest in the meetings. The addresses of Capt. Bennett and his two helpers, so simple and yet so powerfully Scriptural, and loyal to the teaching of the Church, have secured the devout attention of both Dissenters and Church people.”
