“A bright and happy time: Whitsuntide this year welcomed a new departure in the history of the Donisthorpe Church Army Corps. A field near the station was most kindly lent by our friend Mr. Jowler, C.C: Here we had an immense tent erected on Saturday, May 12th. The services on Sunday were bright and hearty, and processions marched to Church. After service at night a large company came down to the field to witness our dear Capt. Leyshon show The Life of Christ, by the light of the lantern. [...]”
