“A social evening benefits the social scheme: On Friday evening, January 12th, we had a visit from Captain Gassick of Tonbridge. At 5 p.m. he entertained the children of the Band of Hope with a Magic Lantern, which was thoroughly enjoyed. At 7.30, we had a meeting of adults, at which our Rector kindly presided and the Captain gave a very interesting account of the C.A. work, illustrated by lantern slides. The people were much interested and a collection was made on behalf of the social work. Thanks to all our friends for their help and sympathy. ”
