“'The Cross Uplifted in Scotland': On March 12, a very impressive Service of Song was given in the Hall, which was crowded. The subject selected was 'The Man of Sorrows', the story being read chiefly from the Gospel narrative, and illustrated by numerous beautiful magic lantern slides. The 'Story of the Cross' from the Church Army Hymn Book was sung while the crucifixion scene was shown, and this and the other musical portions of the Service were very devotionally rendered. (...)”
