“What one picture can do: On Wednesday, the 27th Dec., we held our first C. A. Christmas Tea Party in our Mission Room, at Warren Row, and although the night was very foggy yet people came from far and near, and over eighty partook of the hearty and very inviting tea provided. We return thanks for the kind help and attention which was rendered by all the ladies and gentlemen, who did their best to make the tea a success. After tea, a magic lantern was given, which helped to complete the evening's entertainment. The Mission Room was filled to the door with eager listeners, who came to hear the story of 'John Tregenoweth, His Mark.' A beautiful picture of the Crucifixion was given by Mr. Ed. Clifford to the lady who supports the Mission, and this is used during the opening prayers of each magic lantern. It is impressive, and a blessing to many, and we hope that it may in the future, be a blessing to many more.”
