“Bradford, Yorke - The fifth annual meeting in connection with the Publication Department of the Band of Hope was held on Wednesday, January 21st. Mr. M. Field (hon. Sec. Bradford Band of Hope Union) occupied the chair. The report was read by the secretary, showed that 12 canvasses had been engaged during the year in distributing the temperance and pure literature, the number of magazines sold being 3, 815 of the value of L 43 2s 4d. After making small deductions for arrears and working expenses, a balance of L7 10s 52d was available for distribution amongst the canvasses in propoertion to their sales. After the prizes had been distributed to the chairman, an exhibition of dissolving views , entitled 'A Visit to London' was given. The meeting was attended by over 350 people, and was thouroughly enjoyed by those present.”
