“Clapton Wesleyan - On the 30th December, the third annual christmas entertainment was given with great success. After tea the Rev. F. W. Briggs presided over a crowded audience of about 400 children and friends. The first part of the programme consisted of carols and glees by the Band of Hope choir, two capital recitations by friends, and the distributions of books and prizes. Then followed the usual dissolving view lecture, the metting closing, after the secretary, Mr. H. C. Platt, had offered a few words of encouragement, wishing all present a happy new year. ”
