Newton's lantern slide catalogue: section 9 -- art, literature, and miscellaneous (London: Newton & Co., c.1926), 942-946

“The Slides in this series have been arranged to illustrate the growth and development of Ancient and Medieval Art. Owing to the generous co-operation of a number of friends of education, many of these Slides have been made from private material, and are unobtainable elsewhere. It is believed that the publication of this series will fill a long-felt want, as knowledge and understanding of Ancient and Medieval Art is not only desirable in itself, but should also form the basis of a wider comprehension of Renaissance and Modern Art.

A Selection of 125 representative subjects from the above list has been made by the author for those requiring a shorter series.”

1940s
Catalogue of lantern slides for hire (London: Newton & Co., 1940s), 29

“A course of thirteen subjects, each containing about twenty-five pictures to illustrate the thirteen very excellent lessons—elementary and advanced—in the well-known book by Margaret H. Bulley.

Each subject includes Part I, an elementary lesson in story form, for the younger children; and Part II for advanced lessons.

All the descriptive matter for the above is contained in Ancient and Medieval Art, by Margaret H. Bulley, published by Methuen & Co. (price 7s. 6d.), 'which is primarily intended for parents and teachers and is the outcome of a series of picture talks given to two classes of elementary schoolchildren whose ages varied from 9 to 15 years.'”
