Slide set: The sailors of the Queen: or, the handy men of the British Navy (lecture: Riley Brothers, 60-96 slides, 1900)

Catalogue of lantern slides: season 1901-2 (Dundee: Peter Feathers, 1901), 32

“This is without doubt the finest patriotic set ever issued, and has a very considerable educational value. Beginning with the Training Ship, we are introduced to almost every phase of the Bluejacket's life. The lecture has been so arranged to meet those who require only 60 slides, and in the reading these are all printed in bold type. The lecturer is thus able to read on consecutively, although he may not possess the complete series, in which it will be noticed that the extra slides are lettered in alphabetical order. The reading for the 96 slides, however, is within the limits of an ordinary lecture, and the extra slides comprise some of the most interesting photographs representing the various grades of the service, etc. The set is sure to arouse great enthusiasm wherever exhibited, and the slides are the finest of their kind ever issued.”
