“Peel, Little Hulton, St. Paul's.-In connection with the Friday evening Bible Class, a tea party to which men only were invited, was held on Sept. 30. Twenty-six were present including the Vicar and Capt. Barton. After tea a Lantern entertainment was given, illustrative of the Tabernacle in the wilderness, the lantern being manipulated by Capt. Barton, whilst our Vicar, the Rev. H.E Alderson, explained the views as they appeared on the canvas. In addition to the spiritual work which is being carried on, Capt. Barton has, during the provailing distress caused by the coal strike, been enabled through the generosity of friends, to give a daily dinner to between 40 and 50 children, at the Smith Field Mission Cottage.
