“'The Dinner Hour at the Van': A ten days mission has been held in this parish by the Chester diocesan Van missioners, Capt. Topping and Bro. Jauncey. Capt. Short, resident evangelist, assisted. Although the evening have been light and warm, the meetings have been well attended all though the mission, especially the lantern part, when the schoolroom was crowded at each service. The services were conducted with reverence and earnestness, and the instructions by means of the lantern, and the appeal by means of the addresses were forcible and helpful. (...)”
