MACADAM, G.  (fl. 1890s) – lecturer

Reference
Captain Short, ‘The Church's Holy War’ in Church Army gazette

“'A Border Battlefield.' Berwick-on-Tweed. - Our Bishop came from Newcastle, on Monday 23, to open our Church Mission House, and to cheer us on with his strong, stirring words, and since then we have has a 'regular housewarming,' with tea party or supper for the friends who assembled with us. The mothers had tea together, and a nice concert afterwards, on Monday. On Tuesday the girls' classes met in the same way, and were pleased with the magic lantern shown by Mr. G. Macadam, volunteer lay reader. On Wednesday the fathers supped together, and Thursday saw the Sunday scholars happy and cheerful at tea. Everyone seemed interested and pleased, and Nurse Taylor, as usual, was full of good works among the members of her classes and meetings. Quite a band of workers are collecting around our Mission House. May it be an 'outpost' for sobriety, purity, and Godliness. The Vicar, for Nurse Taylor.”
