“PRAY FOR YOUR PARSON AND PARISH [...] On Dec. 31 we had Capt Southam with us for four days; it was a time for heart-searching. On Monday, Jan. 3, the Captain gave a Lecture in the Foresters' Hall to a large congregation, illustrated by our friend, Mr. Calver, whith his excellent lantern. The subject was 'Old Faces and Funny Places.' At first the Captain gave us a little of his wit and humour, then brought in the Gospel, with such power that many were moved and we trust gave themselves to God. [...] A Church Army Worker”
