“Church Army Methods. The Church in the West writes: - 'The Vicar of France Lynch, near Stroud, has made a departure which is novel if not original. Having announced from the pulpit that if the people would not come to the church, the church must go to the people, the Vicar the other evening organized a procession from the church through the village. Choir and Vicar were robed, and the Cross was carried at the head of the procession. As the procession mored the Vicar read the Litany, the choir making the responses occasional halts were made, and the people joined the procession en route. On return to the church lantern views on the parables were shown, the Vicar addressing a large congregation in explanation.”
