“Squire Walker, of Mudborough-in-Somerset, being of an enterprising turn of mind, determines to visit the Crystal Palace and see the grand exhibition of Motor Cars. Approving of the display, he purchases a motor carriage, and reaching his home with the novel vehicle gets a grand reception. He sells the old grey mare as something no longer necessary, and having made all preparations sets off with his wife and family for a tour in the newly-acquired motor. The strange adventures of this journey are told in the following set of slides, which illustrates the great palace display, Walker's triumphal entry into Mudborough, the scene of excitement which attends the sale of the old grey mare, and, more than all else, the terrible adventures of Mr and Mrs Walker and their family when they provision the motor car and set off on their trial trip. Walker, who is delightfully innocent of mechanics, loses all control over his car, and makes a wild and extended tour through the country, to the terror and consternation of the district he passes through. The venturesome Squire loses his motor, but gains the knowledge that after all discretion is the better part of valour.”
