The 1888 Indispensable Handbook gives the total as 20 slides, but this is presumed to be an error and the figure of 29 in the Newton catalogue to be correct.
However slide 29 in the Newton catalogue listing is described as '8 scenes', which may indicate 8 pictures on a single slide or 8 separate slides, in which case the total number of slides would be 36.
