The Primus Junior Lecturers lantern slides (London: W. Butcher & Sons, c.1910)
1912
Catalogue of lantern slides for sale or hire (Manchester: Josiah T. Chapman, 1912), 576

“There are eight new boxes of out famous Junior Lecturer Sets this season, and the first subject of the series calls for special attention. It is, we believe, well-known that we have devoted an immense amount of time and expense to improving these slides, and with each successive printing we are pleased to think that we are able to get them more artistic, clearer and the colours better rendered. Latterly we have also improved the boxes. On some of the subjects we have had to pay coppyright fees, which has necessitated a slight increase in the selling prices.

This season we have been tempted to do something better still, and have produced a set which we are justified in describing as an 'Edition de Luxe.' The subject selected is the beautiful story by Charles Kingsley, entitled 'Water Babies.' It is one of the most charming fairy tales in the English language, the sentiment is of such a character as to make children wonder and laugh and the adults almost cry. The reading has been most carefully extracted from the book and revised to render it suitable for the purpose. The slides are made from the beautiful illustrations by Warwick Gobel [sic], and are produced in the very best manner that the resources of chromo. lithography are capable of. They are brilliantly transparent and the colours are deliciously clear and soft.

The set consists of twenty-four slides and is only sold complete. It is boxed in a Presentation Cabinet and will form a rare and valuable addition to every Lanternist's collection.

Price, 10s. 6d. per set of 24 Slides.

Complete with Reading in Carrying Case with Strap Handle. Extra Readings, 6d. each.”
