photographer: Persia (lecture: Newton & Co., 51-103 slides, 1895)

Notes

Stileman was active as a Christian missionary in Baghdad between 1889 and 1891; at Julfa, 1891-1893; and in the CMS Persia Mission between 1895 and 1906, which is probably when his photographs published as slides by Newton were taken. He was appointed as the first Anglican Bishop of Persia in 1912 and held that position until 1916.
