ROWLEY, F.R.  (1868-1939) – lecturer

Reference

“At the people's service at the Theatre Royal, Exeter, last evening there was a record attendance of about 1,000 people, and all seemed to thoroughly appreciate the efforts which had been made to provide for their instruction and enjoyment. During the evening a number of admirable selections were played by the band of the Devon and Somerset Royal Engineers (Volunteers), under Bandmaster Marsh. A most instructive and interesting lecture was given by Mr F.R. Rowley, entitled 'Wonders of the Deep.' The lecture was illustrated with limelight views. Hymns were thrown on the sheet and sung with much heartiness. A collection was made to defray expenses.”
