“Metropolitan Tabernacle Sunday School - On Tuesday evening, October 8th, the quarterly meeting of the Home and Foreign Missionary Society was held in the Lecture Hall College Buildings, when a dissolvilng view lecture, on 'China and the Chinese', was given by H. G. Gilbert, of the Sunday School Union. A report of of three months class collections showed that ₤37 10s. had been collected, and disbursed as follows: ₤10 to Colportage Association, ₤6 5s. to Zenana Mission, ₤6 5s. to Baptist Missionary Society, ₤6 5s. to China Inland Mission, ₤5 to Mrs Spurgeon's Book Fund, ₤2 10s. to Cintinental Sunday Schools, and ₤1 5s. to Bazaar Fund. Mr. S. R. Pearce, superintendent, presided.”
