“Berkhamsted - The members of the Claremont Band of Hope were favoured, on Wednesday, Jan 14th, with a visit from Mr. Hicks, of London, who gave readings from the Rev. Mark Guy Pearse's story, 'John Tregenoweth, his Mark,' and illustrated the readings with very fine dissolving views. Both the tale and the illustrations were much enjoyed; and at the close, a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr. Hicks on the motion of the pastor, the Rev. J. Francis Smythe.”
