“Hackney - Ann's Place Sunday School - On Thursday, Feb. 16, the annual enfant's treat was held. About 200 children attended, who after enjoying a hearty tea and a good 'romp' were entertained by the performances of an intelligent little pet dog (who preached a short but impressive sermon upon obedience, by practically illustrating that virtue), after which a magic lantern exhibition was given by Mr. J. Wilman, which was heartily appreciated by the little ones present, who received an orange each upon leaving.”
