“Windsor - Victoria-street Baptist Sunday School - On Friday evening, the 18th Feb., an illuminated lecture on 'A Trip to America' was given in the chapel by Mr. Adkins (of the United Kingdom Band of Hope Union). Besides the children there was a large attendance of the congregation and the public. The pictures were highly coloured, and were rendered exceedingly brilliant by the aid of the oxy-hydrogen lime-light. The lecture, which was well adapted for the children, was listened to with great attention by the audience, and at the close, the Rev. W. H. Mechan tendered a vote of thanks to Mr. Adkins. The scholars were then regaled with buns and oranges, and retired to their homes.”
