“Borough Road Chapel Band Of Hope - On Tuesday evening, Dec 29th, the quarterly meeting was held in the chapel, under the presidency of the Rev. G. W. McCree. The chapel was filled with members, parents and friends, who listened to an interesting and instrcutive lecture on the 'Land of Ice and Snow', illustrated with dissolving views, with oxy-hydeogen limelight, by ;r. William Harrison. The lecture was preceded by an appropriate piece, entitled Jack Frost, sung by the inmates of Miss Sherman's Home for Orphans, in West-square. The Band of Hope has progressed very favourably during the past quarter, having an average attendance of about 120, and a branch of Band of Hope is about to be started at the St. George's Market Mission Hall, in connection with the chapel.”
