“Woolwich, St. John's.-The C.A. Work was commenced in this parish about six weeks ago, and the prospects at that time were not very bright, as we stood in the streets night after night with no one to help us; yet the people have opened their doors and given us a hearing as we told of God's love to man. Our Harvest Thanksgiving Services have been well attended; we finished on october 9 with a Tea and Lantern Service. Our vicar, the Rev. S.E. Cheltoe, worked the lantern, and our enrate, the Rev. J.A. Drummond, gave the readings. Willing hands helped with the tea, for which we wish to thank them. Through the blessing of God we believe the work is succeeding. S. Sutton, Capt.”
