“'Praise the Lord - what for?' Eccleston, St. Helens. - The C.A. work is progressing favourably under our new captain, and the services at Cyril Street are mostly crowded. We have had a service of song, entitled 'Given in Charge,' which was rendered by York Street C.A. choir, conducted by Capt. Hutton. The connective readings were given by Rev. R.B. de Wolf, M.A., the story being illustrated by a beautiful series of lantern views, which were exhibited by Capt. Powell. The room was crowded to excess by an appreciative audience. The proceedings closed with a hearty vote of thanks to our C.A. friends from St. Helens. The collections altogether on behalf of the mission amouted to £2. J.R., for Capt. Powell.”
