“'Life in the Cemetery Chapel.' Cheltenham. - On the evening of October 7th, the Rev. T. Longley gave the first of a series of fortnightly magic lantern lectures in St. Mary's Cemetery Chapel. Notwithstanding the fact that a few perches away was Mr. Studt's orchestraphone, pealing out some favourite selections, the building was well filled with an appreciative audience. On the 24th these services were resumed by Capt. Armstrong and his indefatigable helper, Mr. Clare, the building was again filled. The speaker brought home to the audience, in a few practical words, the great lesson to be learned from the subject of the evening that the society with which we mingle, if good, will almost invariably prove a blessing, if otherwise it will be a curse, and lead us farther away from God. We, the inevitable pronoun of the Church Army, won't be astonished if those who are aware of our roving commission give us the sobriquet of Roaming Cotholics, as we hope to have services in four or five different buildings during the week throughout the winter.
