In this small country parish, where unusual methods of Church work were new to the people, the Officers have won golden opinions from everybody, not the least appreciative being the better-instructed Church goers, who showed them many kindnesses during their stay- To the Services, held nightly in the Schoolroom, nearly every house in the parish sent his representative, so that it was often difficult to fiind room for all who came. Capt. Smith's Lantern Adresses on the lIfe of our Lord and the Apostels' Creed were very impressive, and full of instruction for those who desired to hear whole Gospel of God. HIs lecture on 'Church Army Work' is quite a revelation to Churchmen living in remote country parishes. The hand of God is truly manifest in raising up, within the Church, an Organisation which can send our trained Lay-Evangelists, zealous for God's kingdom, well-instructed, and sober-minded. Many of our parishioners accepted memorial cards, and expressed their resolution to keep the four precepts. We have had a time of renewing, for which we thank God and take courage. H.
