“Able to keep you from falling. Ewood Bridge. – We have splendid services week by week, and glorious times in Easter week. Good Friday we ha a Magic Lantern Service, 'Gethsemane to Calvary”, when many came to see and hear the story of the Cross. On Saturday evening, we had a Devotional Service, with good attendance, Capt. Tompkins, C.A. Mission Van, 'Wakefield” taking part. On Easter Sunday we had Holy Communion at 7 a.m., a goodly number being present, and in the evening we held our usual service, which was conducted by Capt. Chamberlain; the address was delivered very ably by Capt. Tompkins. Much good was done – many seeking mercy. On April 11, the Vicar gave an illustrated Lecture on General Gordon and afterwards spoke highly of Church Army work in Ewood Bridge. God has greatly honoured our Captain in his work in this Parish, many precious souls having surrended their all to Jesus, who is not only mighty to save, but also upon our labours, and may many more be added to the number. This is the prayer of one greatly blessed and kept by the power of God.”
