“Not fair-weather Christians: The Church Army Van, 'Llanelwy' (Welsh for 'St. Asaph'), in charge of Capt. Morris and Cadet Williams, spent a week in this parish. Wet and boisterous weather necessitated holding all services in the schoolroom. We had good gatherings most evenings, especially on Sunday night, and very earnest addresses from both officers. [...] The Magic Lantern Lectures by Capt. Morris were very attractive. Twenty-five people in the parish have become subscribers to the Gazette. The Van Movement is a wise one in our opinion, and with discreet management will do much good in Wales.”
