Captain Jackson, ‘The Church's Holy War’ in Church Army gazette

“Since our last report we have cause to rejoice over the few who have come over on the Lord's side. Our meetings have been very encouraging among our sailors in the lodging-houses and the Sailor's Home. We have interesting reports of some who, by God's help, are trying to live a godly, righteous, and sober life; they need our prayers whilst exposed to so many temptations. We have just had a magic-lantern entertainment in our mission-room entitled, 'Jane Conquest and Jessica's First Prayer,' through the kindness of Mr. and Mrs. Chaplin, who were with us.”
