‘Records of Progress’ in Band of Hope chronicle

“Gloucester - The Baptist Free Church Band of Hope held its 14th annual entertainment in the Corn Exchange on Jan. 16, and the veent proved very enjoyable throughout. After a capital tea, the Hall was filled by an appreciative audience at the entertainment, over which the President, Rev. R. Firth Guyton, presided. The programme was an exceedingly interesting one, consisting of cinematograph pictures and limelight views, provided by the United Kingdom Band of Hope Union. These pictures were very clear, and were exhibited in a smooth and effective manner, thereby adding greatly to their charm. Three pretty action songs were splendidly rendererd by a girls' choir, who reflected great credit upon the conductor, Miss Pritchard. The Chairman distributed the medals and awards.”
